I thought I’d share a couple of photo’s with you from my trip. The first photo is of me with my sister on the walkway beside the River Thames and the famous Big Ben in the background. In the other photo, you can see Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament and just about see the Tower of London on the left, where Henry VIII was beheaded. London is a city where history abounds.
I had a wonderful week and now I’m buckling down to get gifts bought, business caught up, teleclasses booked, client calls etc. In fact there’s lots to do in the coming weeks as I’m sure there is for all of you.
The secret to this time of the year, or any time, in order not to get stressed, is to decide in advance that you are going to stay calm, focused and organized. It’s all about how you choose to think and how you plan so that when the holidays arrive you are not still running around the day before still buying gifts, groceries or whatever and completely stressed.

There’s 26 days until Christmas Eve or for those of you who celebrate Hanukah there are 17 days. If there are other holidays around this time of the year that I haven’t mentioned, I apologize for my lack of facts. However, the same thing applies to everyone, you have a certain amount of time left. If you haven’t already made a plan, take a few minutes and do it today. Here are a few suggestions:
- First, write out everything that you need to do before the holidays that don’t include working. Keeping it in your head doesn’t work. Writing is more productive.
- Prioritize. By doing this you will know what needs to get done now and what really can wait until a week before.
- Write out a gift list. Think about what you want to buy each person so that you have some idea when you get to the stores. Schedule in your planner exactly when you intend to get this done. Make it an appointment with yourself.
- If you are making the holiday meal, write your grocery list and buy and pre-cook as much as you can in advance.
