Shoulda, Coulda Have to!!

I think these words were almost like a mantra during my most developmental childhood years “you should”, “You could,” “You must,” “You have to.” They became ingrained into my subconscious, as are most things we see and hear as children during our young years.

As I discovered over the course of 60 years, I wasn’t the only one who received these messages. I’d go so far as to say that probably, from my experience with people and with clients, that about 95% of the population live their lives with this kind of thinking.

Unfortunately, this is really detrimental to our growth, spiritually, personally and professionally. When we think this way, we are not following our own path, we are following the path of someone else through the messages we have stored on the subconscious level.

There are no, shoulds, musts, could, have to, there’s really only what it is that you love to do and are passionate about doing. When you find yourself saying or even hearing these words, ask yourself a couple of questions. “Who said I should or must.” Do I think it’s necessary? Is it something I really want to do or am I doing it because I think I’m supposed to and will feel guilty if I don’t?” “Will doing this get me closer to the results I want in life or business?”

Hopefully, your answer will be no, I’m doing this because I really want to because it’s something that makes me happy.

The great thing about life is that dreams can come true. If your’s are not materializing the way you want take a look at the words you are using. The words we use = the way we are thinking = the action we take = the results we create.

Build your life for you, set goals for you, and achieve your dreams for you. You don’t need someone else’s validation to live the life you want.

When you don’t have control let it go!

Last week I was having huge challenges with my outlook email program and for over 24 hours couldn’t send email or receive it through the usual channels. When running a business this can result in huge issues. Without professional help there was little I could do. This was out of my control. Thank god I learned many years ago, that if I don’t personally have control over something I need to make a choice to let it go. Life happens, no matter what. Getting stressed is not the answer.

This was not something I myself could resolve. Even my fabulous VA Mandi couldn’t resolve this one. I sat on the phone with the hosting company for what seemed like hours both Wednesday and Thursday. I was on hold at times, for as long as 15 minutes.

20 years ago, I didn’t have the patience I have today. I would not have been able to let go. I would have driven myself insane trying to make it work, got more and more irritated and stressed and then would still have to call someone to fix things.

These days, nothing is so important that I have to allow it to cause me stress or impatience. Instead I made a conscious decision that my business wouldn’t fall apart if I didn’t have email for a while, I could use the time to work on other things. It actually was a plus. I got a lot more achieved with this mindset, didn’t have to bother with email and never had a moment of stress.

I have a framed copy of the serenity prayer on the bookshelf in my office. I often use this to remind me about patience and control. Like the majority of people I’ve worked with over the past 25 years, I too come from a place where being in control and being perfect was almost part of my DNA. I’ve proven that this kind of thinking can be changed. For those of you who might not know the serenity prayer:

“God Grant Me the Serenity to Accept the Things I Cannot Change, the Courage to Change the Things I Can And the Wisdom to Know the Difference.”

Whether in your personal or professional life, remember that learning to be patient and letting go of control will help you to create a life that is more grounded and peaceful.

You are worthwhile

Sometimes we’re in the right place at the right time and that’s where I felt I was on Saturday. I attended the Los Angeles Chapter of National Speakers Association Conference in Palm Springs, which if you know where this is, you know it was hot, actually around 110 degrees. Thank God for air-conditioning.

I had the pleasure of listening to many wonderful speakers. However, what spoke most highly to me, was not just that they were successful or great speakers, they were great people. One in particular left a very vivid image on my mind.

I had the honor of being at a round table session with Robert Danzig, the head of the Hearst Corporation, Dean of Hearst Management Institute. I’m sure you know the company I mean. The most incredible quality about this man was his humility and authenticity. His story of success is quite remarkable. I can’t share it all here, however, I’d like to share with you something he spoke about. If you would like to know more about him, his books and work go to www.bobdanzig.com

This man was raised in the foster care system, no family, no comforts, no money, no nothing. When he was 11 yrs. old a social worker said to him, “you are worthwhile,” that was his first step in self worth. He stood on her shoulders. When he was 16 yrs. old, an office manager at his first job, (yes, 16. He did eventually attend college and received a fellowship to Stanford University,) said that she believed he was “full of promise.” That gave him the impetus to have ambition. He stood on her shoulders too.

He says; “seek out those who offer you their shoulders to stand on. Be open to people who offer to stand shoulder to shoulder with you if you are facing any kind of adversity. Welcome people who inspire you to keep going when you come across stones and boulders along your journey. The only requirement you need is to be the seeker – the willing vessel to allow others to be your source of strength.”

I’m in my 60’s and from my own life experiences I know that no matter what your background, race, religion, size, age, education or current situation, the only thing that can stop you from achieving what you want in life is yourself. You have as much inner courage and strength as you choose to use. You can do what Bob Danzig has done, if you so choose.

Time for New Beginnings

Here we are in September. The end of summer is near and I see this as a time for new beginnings. Labor Day is over, the kids go back to school, people are back from vacation and it’s time to ‘start’ thinking about next year’s intentions, goals and successes. Not including this month, there are 3 months left until the end of 2007 and it’s never too early to start planning.

When I talk about success, I’m not just talking about financial success. There are many different kinds of success. The word might mean different things to different people. I recently heard someone say, “Wealthy people have money but people with money are not necessarily wealthy.”

In my 60 plus years, I have certainly found this to be true. I’ve met many millionaires over the years who seem to have everything, yet they are not happy.

Although money and things often make life easier, they don’t necessarily make our lives better. Money doesn’t always create freedom. In fact, money is often used as a band-aid. Real freedom and success is created from within. Success is how you see it in your life, what it means to you, not what it means to someone else.

According to the dictionary the word Success means, “a favorable result that one has hoped for.”

I often ask new clients the following question, it tells me a lot about where they are coming from within. My request would be that you answer this one for yourself.

“What does success mean to me.”

Who are you surrounding yourself with?

There were a couple of interesting things I heard during the past week that I wanted to pass on to you to nudge your thinking.

I don’t spend time with people who are negative, people who are not generally happy or people who more often than not live in fear. I don’t want any of that negative energy around me.

I certainly don’t know everything, I learn just like everyone else and I continue to do so. I’ve been very fortunate and have surrounded myself with people who can teach me things I don’t know or help me to enhance things I have already learned.

Who are you surrounding yourself with? Do you surround yourself with people who inspire you, who laugh and are happy 90% of the time?

Do you really hear what people say? Not just listen to the words but really hear them or are you often anxiously waiting when someone is speaking, to tell your story and what’s going on in your life? Make a habit of really hearing when people speak. This will also help you to determine what kind of thinking they have and whether it’s bringing positive or negative energy into your energy field.

The other interesting thing I heard was from one of my mentors, Chris Howard who said, "Wealthy People have money, however people with money are not necessarily wealthy."

All of this adds up to becoming really consciously aware. Are you attracting positive energy and creating the life of your dreams?

Have a wonderful week and happy Labor Day.

Perseverance = Power

I went to see a great show last week, “Jersey Boys.” The Frankie Valli story. This was my era of music and it was really great entertainment with fabulous music that brought back lots of memories of my younger days. It also gave me another ‘Aha’ moment I didn’t expect in that setting. If you don’t give up, you really can achieve what you want. I would like so much to see everyone understanding this.

Often we hear about people who bring great pleasure to the world without ever knowing what their back story is. Frankie Valli’s story was very interesting.

To make it brief, he ran with a gang of really wild kids who had dealings with the mafia and got into crime and lots of mischief resulting in jail time. He could just as easily have taken that road. Instead he wanted more and became famous for giving pleasure instead of famous for being infamous.

Often when people want more and it’s too challenging they give up. Sometimes, without realizing it, they are on the brink of success and they stop. Why??

One of the reasons is they don’t want it badly enough. Sometimes it’s because they are really afraid they will fail and don’t believe in themselves sufficiently. It’s all about how you are thinking. I’ve said this many times before, change the way you think and you really can change your life.

That’s what Frankie Valli did. Never mind what challenges were thrown at him and there were many, he didn’t see giving up as an option. He was passionate about his music and loved what he did and that’s really all it takes.

Make sure you really love what you do and are passionate about it. Keep moving forward and although I can’t promise miracles, I do know that miracles can happen. You have the ability to achieve anything you want in life. Go out and make it happen.

Relationships. How do you handle yours?

The Law of Attraction and your astonishing mind works in all areas of life. It is especially powerful when you are connecting with other people.

Whether married, single, gay, straight, friends, colleagues, young or old, relationships play a very powerful part in creating success in life.

Of course, the most important relationship you can ever have is the one you have with yourself. When you feel really good about who you are and others see you as a confident, fulfilled person, you gain more respect and it makes you very attractive to the universe.

Relationships are part of life and life is about love and energy which, in turn, allows you to attract what you want into your life.

Even in the workplace. If you spend a good part of your life working with other people, creating good relationships with colleagues is of prime importance to your daily health.

If you find yourself arguing with someone and wanting to be right, let go. It’s a no win situation. Take a deep breath before you speak then act, don’t re-act. Always listen very carefully to what people are saying, don’t just hear their voice, listen to the words.

One of the ways to stop someone cold if they continually need to be right is to be the bigger of the two. Step back and say, “You’re right.” They have nowhere to go with it once you say that. As long as you know the truth about the given situation, you don’t have to be right. This applies whether it’s work, marriage, partnership or friendship.

When people continually argue that they are right, they have a great ‘need’ to be heard and it’s the only way they have of being in control.

Relationships honestly can make your days great or challenging. Also, remember that men and women think differently. There are no rights and wrongs just differences

That’s it ‘til next time.
Here to your success and brilliance

Which way are you looking?

"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." - George Bernard Shaw, 1856-1950

Sorry I wasn’t here last week. I got a big backlogged and it’s taken some time to get caught up.

Which way are you looking? If you’re only focused on what you don’t want and expect to get what you do want, it’s not possible. First of all, according to the Law of Attraction what we focus on expands, secondly it’s not possible to have positive thoughts if you are continually thinking negatively.

Thinking about what you don’t want is negative thinking. If you Visualize your dream life, focus on what you really do want in life, use some simple tools and of course take action, you will find money, success, good health, great relationships will flow into your life more easily and more effortlessly.

I’d request this week that you set yourself one positive intention at the beginning of each day, focus on only the positives and let the universe do it’s work.

As I’ve said before, it may not happen at the exact time that you want it. Instant gratification doesn’t usually work, however if you keep thinking this way, gradually you will find yourself attracting what you do want into your life.

Drop me a line and let me know how using the Law of Attraction is working for you.

Are you a Worry Wart?

I know the title might not sound very attractive, I’m a Brit and that’s a very British expression. It’s also very to the point. Are you a worrier? Do you think about most things like it’s a catastrophe? Do you more often than not feel stressed and as we Brits would say “out of sorts?”

If this is how you feel and think, you’re making a choice to allow yourself to be this way. I probably wouldn’t be too far off if I said that about 80% of people in most countries think this way a lot of the time. Especially, with things the way they are in the world today.

I truly understand. I used to worry about everything, catastrophize most situations and walked around so stressed I had headaches every day. I didn’t change these patterns until I was in my 40’s. However, when I did, my life didn’t just change, it transformed my life and my thinking. Change is inevitable daily, transformation is a choice. Choice = power.

One of my clients, Ann, on her coaching calls, would continually complain. She didn’t have time to get assignments finished because……… It was Jim’s fault she was always late for appointments, etc. etc. I don’t have time, I’m always so busy. Why is it so difficult, so and so doesn’t have these problems etc. etc.

Being busy does not necessarily mean she was being productive, which is what sent her to me in the first place.

Because she was living her days this way, she was continually anxious, always worried and lived with constant stress.

I help people to change the way they think about all areas of their lives. She hired me to help her to earn more money, have more productive days and be more balanced in her life. I love my clients and I’m patient, I also want them to succeed.
I don’t want clients to waste money if they’re not committed to taking action.

First, she had to get honest and tap into the part of her that she was hiding. What was the payoff to not achieving what she said she wanted? What was she afraid of? How honest was she being with herself? What kind of negative messages did she have recorded in her mind?

Like me, most people get there messages from childhood. You can’t blame your childhood forever. As adults you have to take responsibility. This is part of
The Law of Cause and Effect.

Every cause has an effect; every effect has a cause. Thank God as human beings we have choice.

If you choose to live at the effect of life, you will always make excuses and find reasons why things don’t work out, why you don’t have enough money. You will always justify and blame others for lack in any area. This was initially how Ann was living.

Depending on the childhood messages we receive, many of us have gone through this phase at one time or another. The challenge is what happens when we stay in this mindset as adults.

Living on this side of the equation usually creates feelings of low self worth and feelings of powerlessness. Often feeling sorry for yourself and perhaps comparing what you don’t have to what others do have. Being part of the “ain’t it awful” crowd without even realizing it.

Having real power means that you are willing to live on the cause side of the equation, you are willing to take charge of your life and take responsibility for creating your life the way you really want it, based on your own actions. When you live life this way, it empowers you and you open yourself to the universe so that it works with you in attracting what you want in life.

Change doesn’t happen overnight, so patience is very important when going through this process. Like Ann, you have to be willing to look at the part you play in attracting the things that are and have happened in your life. It’s necessary to say if I wasn’t hiding, if I got really honest with myself, what action would I take?

Today, six months later, Ann is well on her way to financial freedom and great success and she thinks very differently. That doesn’t mean she’s perfect, or that she doesn’t slip, like all of us, she slips back into the thinking from time to time, however, it’s not about never slipping, it’s about how long you stay there. She learned how she could zap negative thinking in seconds. You can do this too.
Live your life to the fullest and live it the way you dream about.

Thinking Outside the Box

I realized this past few weeks in listening to people around me, just how many people don’t really think outside of the box. Mainly, because they don’t realize they are locked in a box of their own creation. You are not in jail, there are no bars other than those that you might create yourself.

This is one of the times when imagination plays a great part. If you were told that stepping outside of the box, guaranteed that you could create a different kind of future, would you take action?

After you have read this, close your eyes, imagine yourself living exactly the kind of life that you want. Imagine you can feel the breath of a breeze on your face, the warmth of the sun, the smell of newly mowed grass, the sound of laughter, feelings of excitement and pleasure and sit with this for a few minutes. Put everything in the picture that you would really like and really feel the feelings of having this. Take a deep breathe and open your eyes. How did it feel? Did it feel powerful, pleasurable, joyful, frightening, adventurous or whatever feelings you may have had.

You can have everything you want in life because you already have all you need to create it right there in your mind. There really is an unlimited supply, you can have it if you can conceive, understand and believe it.

Step outside of the box, it’s OK to feel a little fear and it’s OK to get off course. Life is not about being perfect, it’s just about being. Air planes are continually off course, however because a plane is programmed to know exactly where it’s going, it usually arrives at its destination. You can do the same. Decide what you want, step outside of the box and create the life of your dreams, you deserve it.

Negativity can be made to work for You.

I’ve written about many different topics in the months gone by. Most of them are connected to attracting what you want from the Universe.

There really is no big secret to being able to do this, however it does take certain techniques to allow you to make sure that your subconscious and conscious are working in alignment.

If you are taking action, thinking positively and are still not attracting what you want, stop whatever you are doing and ask yourself whether you really believe on every level that you can achieve wealth, success and joy in life.

Your subconscious is a tricky little mischief and is very powerful. Is there even a teeny bit of doubt or fear? Even if there is, there are ways to take the doubt and use it to work for you instead of against you.

Clean up your inner trash!

We all have mind messages, the stories that play in our heads, usually put there by other people. I was watching a movie, The Peaceful Warrior,” this past weekend and I was again reminded of the fact that until we clean up the ‘trash’ in our minds, it’s very challenging to be able to attract what we want in life.

If you have old habits and behaviors that are holding you back, clear them away. When I was in private practice, I used to use a visualization with clients that had them seeing a garbage truck carrying all the old messages away. Clearing out old mindsets is not nearly as challenging as it sounds, it’s just a matter of setting an intention and working on it. “The battles we fight are on the inside.” Clear out the trash and there won’t be any more battles.

You’re human, you might make mistakes and that’s OK, that’s how you learn. Change the way you think and you can change your life.

Have a wonderful July 4th.

March To Your Own Drummer

Last week I took a real vacation, something I haven’t done for a number of years. I went to a beautiful family resort/spa with all my family including my six grandchildren, who range in age from 3 years to six years old. I played relaxed, & read great books. A really great treat for me. Especially being around the children for a whole week. It also allowed me the opportunity to see how kids re-act to other people.

At this age they still march to their own drummer. Although, they heeded what their parents said, when it came to what other kids wanted they didn’t stand still for saying yes just to be liked. From the youngest to the oldest they went with what they wanted to do without worrying about the reaction of their peers or for that matter adults.

I was thinking what a pity it is that somewhere between 5 – 10 years old, we tend to lose the ability to ‘go for it’ for ourselves. We start to play the record of the ‘you should’, you must, ‘you have to.’ And we start to conform with what we think society wants. We drift into what I call the “pleasing syndrome.” Often people do this for many years, sometimes their whole lives. This really dilutes inner power and diminishes energy and the ability to attract what you really want in life.

Look at the first two principles in the 28 principles of attraction written by Thomas Leonard.

1. The Importance of YOU. Without you there is nothing and Attraction isn’t possible. Make sure you take care of yourself first. Not to the Detriment of others and don’t get stuck in ego, this isn’t attractive.

2. UNHOOK YOURSELF FROM THE FUTURE:
Attraction works in the present, not in the future. If you’re dragging things from your past or afraid of what might happen in the future, you won’t attract What you want in the NOW.

Are you pleasing yourself or are you stuck in pleasing other people and saying yes even when it doesn’t really work for you because you want people to think more highly of you, to think you’re nice, to like you etc. etc.

I know what it’s like because many years ago I was stuck in that pattern. What I discovered when I finally found the courage to march to my own drummer was that people respected me much more when I stood in integrity and set boundaries for myself. Those that didn’t like it were not meant to be in my life.

Always march to your own drummer and have respect for yourself.

Fear or Fun!!

I spent a lot of time this weekend around young children and animals and it gave me pause for thought! Young kids have lots of fun, they are not yet immersed in fear. Dogs have fun, they sleep a lot and they are usually at peace. (I don’t have dogs so I share my daughter’s. The photo is one of my grand-dogs Oreo taking a break from running around with the kids.)

I watched my 5 year old grandson receive a trophy from his little league team in baseball, they weren’t fearful as they ran up and down the court with their little faces focused on getting a ball in the net, they were having fun and learning a little about the art of competition.

I was watching a roomful of children at my son’s twins 4th birthday party, (I have 2 sets of twin grandchildren), climbing up what they call bouncy’s. These contraptions were at least 7 times as high as each child. There they were climbing up and over and happily sliding down. They had no fear, they were having fun and once at the bottom, they couldn’t wait to climb back up to slide down again from this huge height.

We as adults have all the ingrained messages that have been recorded in our minds over the years, consequently, most people are not at peace, often don’t sleep well, get mired in fear and doubt and don’t have nearly enough fun.

You can change that if you choose to! We are at choice to live our lives however we want. What choice have you made recently?

Do you have any fear and doubt that you allow to hold you back in any way in life?
Are you living the life that you have designed or just getting through the days however they happen!

One of my greatest joys in my coaching business is when I see people start to break up the limiting conversations they are having with themselves. The mind chatter that goes on, the talk that brings up the fear and doubt.

If there was absolutely nothing standing in your way, no financial challenges, no doubt, fear or anything else, how would you design your life? What would it look like? We are half way through the year, this is a good time to take stock of where you are and if you are not living the life you want, whether it’s professionally or personally, it’s time to do something about it!

I’d love to hear from you if you have any questions or comments. Especially, if something has made you stop and think and you are making changes in your life.

Have a great week.

Expand Your Vision to Attract More

Jim Rohn said, "We all have two choices, we can make a living or we can design a life."

Of course we all want to have enough money to pay the bills, keep a roof over our head and eat. However, if we play a bigger game and take more action the possibilities are endless.

I teach my clients not to just make a living but to gain the confidence to 'design' the life of their dreams.

We know that based on the Law of Attraction, what we focus on is what we attract. So, what happens if we think we're following the law of attraction and we’re not getting the results? There's always a reason!

Over the 25 years that I've been teaching this subject and from my own experience, I have learned this secret. We have to be in alignment on a conscious and subconscious level with our thinking. From what I have seen, I believe that more often than not, this is not happening and people are not aware of the barriers they are creating.

Unfortunately, all too often people don't realize that the actions they take, what they are consciously thinking and what is really going on at a deeper more fundamental level, is not the same.

If you have all the plans in place, are taking action and still not getting where you want to be, you have to be more willing to dig a little deeper.
  • Do you honestly, deep down, believe that you can reach your goals?
  • Have you set them so that the laws of the universe can work with and for you?
To make the changes, to overcome fear, doubt and mind chatter, there are many options. You could hire a coach, take a class, read a book, listen to CD programs etc. However you make the changes, I highly encourage you to take action so that you can take down the barriers, think outside of the box and achieve the life of your dreams.

Half Way Point: Are you on your way!?

As Memorial day approaches, we’re almost half way through 2007. Kids are graduating, even my 5 year old Grandson has a graduation from nursery school, Father’s are celebrating, and June 21st brings the official start of summer.

Whether it’s in your personal life or your business I think this is another time for new beginnings.

This is the time of year when I look back to see how I’ve been doing with goals and intentions I set for this year. I look to see if I’m attracting what I want and if I’m on track to achieve my goals for December.

A few of the things that I planned for this year are in the works. My book, “The Astonishing Power of You,” which will be almost like an owners manual for your mind, will be finished and due for release in October. At the beginning of May, I released my fantastic new program, Six Simple Steps to Generate a Six Figure Income in 2 years (or less). Don’t let the title fool you, It’s about the law of attraction and can really be used for all areas of life. I’m in the midst of recording amazing visualizations that will accelerate your future growth, plus in September I will be starting an ‘accelerating your empowerment’ circle for women, online.

What have you been attracting during the past six months? Have you been changing your thinking, letting go of negatives, what if’s and other things you may have been tolerating? Are you attracting positive things into your business and your life?

If not, I encourage you to look at why not! As I already said, it’s a time for new beginnings, it’s never too late to start, or to get re-focused and back on track.

Remember, according to the law of attraction, everything is created from the inside, you live your life exactly how YOU create it.

Have a wonderful Memorial day weekend.

‘Til next time

The Blame Game

Hi Everybody,

Could this be you? I wanted to write a few words about this because it’s come up a number of times with people in my life the past few weeks.

When we play this game, we are not standing in integrity or taking responsibility for our own life, neither are we living in the present. It’s often much easier for people to blame everything and everybody outside of themselves for what is not coming to fruition in their life.

Playing the blame game is just one of the behaviors that can be a total energy drain.
The only person who is responsible for the results in your life is YOU.

As I’ve said before, don’t let the old messages trip you up. Make good informed choices and remember that all choices have consequences, just make sure that your choices work positively for you so the energy around you stays high.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has found the tips useful or has suggestions for specific topics that you might like to hear about. Don’t by shy. It’s a great way to connect with the universe and I’m here to be of service to you.

Have a truly wonderful week.

‘Til next time

You deserve the best of everything in life.

As The Empowerment Coach and an expert in teaching people how to gain their inner power and achieve their dreams, although at this point in my life I don’t get taken back by what goes on in the world, I still find I am surprised when someone contacts me for help and I find out that the main reason they haven’t achieved their goals and dreams is because they have not yet discovered the power they have within themselves and what they are really capable of achieving in life.

It’s never too late, there’s always time, Unfortunately, we don’t know what we don’t know, until we find out! Whether you are 16 or 60. You start from wherever you are and there’s lots of time to achieve anything you want in life.

I didn’t discover my own self worth and inner power until I was in my 40’s and my greatest wish in life would be that children, teenagers, young people find this inner power while they are still very young so that they don’t have to wait until later in their lives.

Imagine if all the kids in the world believed in themselves and the dreams they have, what a different world this might become!

If you are struggling with your inner worth or know someone who is, please reach out to someone. Find a mentor, hire a coach, talk to a friend, read a book, anything so that you can work on increasing that strength. You deserve to have joy, wealth, success and happiness in life. All it takes is being willing to:

Set an intention + make a commitment to yourself + take action = positive results.

Stay on top of what’s going on in your mind so that your subconscious programming can’t take over. Don’t allow the mind chatter/gremlin to keep you stuck. Don’t let anyone else steal your dreams. You deserve the best of everything in life.

Have a great week.

Make True Commitments

My apologies for getting this out late this week. I was out of town until Monday morning and now I’m playing catch up.

Judging by the lovely e.mails I received it was a great teleconference on Monday. I’m delighted that everyone on the call enjoyed it. If you’re interested in the new product you can check it out at www.theastonishingpowerofyou.com/moremoney.html

I have found over the years, not only from clients but also from my own experience, that one of the main reasons that people don’t reach their goals is because they don’t truly commit to them. Usually, if there is hesitation in totally committing to something it’s because there is an underlying fear or doubt. People who don’t make true commitments are always looking for a way out. They will use any excuse as to why they don’t achieve their goals, never looking at the real reason. This can lead to disappointment.

Remember to check what’s going on in your subconscious. Is your mind chatter telling you that if you make a commitment and don’t achieve the goal you will have failed? There is no such thing as failure. When you are doing your best, you are taking action The only time people fail is when they stand still.

I encourage you to make real commitments, not just saying the words but also writing down your goals and posting them somewhere you can see them. This keeps your subconscious
from shutting down and ignoring them. (there is a whole section in the new program about goal setting.)

If you want a really beautiful free screensaver that will keep you on track and motivated go to www.ecourseforfree.com/law_ss.cfm. There are many other wonderful things available on the site. I downloaded the screen saver and it really is not only beautiful but very powerful.

Have a fantastic week.

‘Til next time.

Your Comfort Zone Can Stop You From Living a Full Life

Moving Forward.

Staying in our comfort zone is much easier than stepping into the unknown. However, it’s also much more dangerous because often we don’t live a life that we want or one that’s big enough for us. Step outside of the old comfort zone and create a new, bigger, brighter zone that you become comfortable with.

Sometimes you might hit a barrier of fear or doubt. So, how do you get past this!

Imagine that you are running a race, maybe a marathon. The other runners are surging ahead and you feel yourself falling back. You start to think that it’s much easier just to coast or even to give up. This is the time when you need to pull forth all the inner power and energy that you’ve been storing up. You take a deep breathe, you surge forward and you find yourself getting closer and closer to the front of the group. You win! You’ve done it! Success is yours.

Sometimes it might seem challenging to keep up. If you keep moving forward, if you persevere and hold onto the dream you break through the barrier. The success you want is yours.

These few steps will help you to move ahead.

1. Start by clearly defining your goal and how you want it to look. (this is any area of life.) It might be professionally, health, weight, relationships. Whatever it is, it’s important to define how you want it to look. What would your dream ideally look like if anything were possible?

2. Although it might feel real, remember that fear is just a feeling manifested by a thought. You have the power to choose how you want to feel and how you want your life to be.

3. Focus on taking one action each day toward your dream and keep moving forward.

Have a great week. I’m rooting for all of you.
